Finnish registration for Ultralight...
« : Heinäkuu 02, 2007, 08:23:24 »
Hello together!

Sorry, my Finnish is not to good yet, so I try it in English...

I have moved some time ago to Finland. I have a Kitfox, licensed as German ultralight, own build, around 130 flight hours, now standing in Räyskälä.

Now I would like to register it Finnish. How does it work? Where to go first?

Thanks for helping!

Kai

How about night VFR and IFR in German with ultralight or
experimental normal category planes. If your current registration
allows night operation, do not EVER registrate your plane as finnish
plane. In here, in Finland we have somekind of deep schizophrenia
around people who decides what we are allowable to do or not  ;)

Well, I guess you don't know German bureaucracy, night-VFR/IFR - never... I can tell you a short example: My Kitfox is in Germany with 400 kg MTOW limited, to get the 450 kg it would cost 2000 €. Only paper-work....
To change from 582 to 912 is much more...

So, I still believe that it is easier to have a Finnish registrated ultralight...  ;)

Unbelievable. There is a country, which has more bureaucratic CAA what
Finland have, and we are not talking China yet, where, I think, we are
transferred immediately to the "re-learning-center" to keep our mouths
shutup  :2funny:

However... Your next stop will be then: http://www.ilmailuhallinto.fi/ and
locate: "Ilma-aluksen rekisteröiminen".

Those people in contacts list speaks English too (few of them even German).

Ach! There is an "In english" link too, bottom on the main page.
